PV4WD is a group of Jeep owners located in the greater Bangor, ME area. We are a not-for-profit group of individuals dedicated to the enjoyment of the sport we love. We represent the good of our sport and the fight to keep our cause legal. We strive to work within our community to generate a better understanding of the laws; the respect for the land and the land owners.
Please come in and have a look around!
Well we all made it back in one piece - mostly! The PV4WD trip to RMTP was awesome! Many members came down to Carthage, Maine to camp, wheel and party with John Steele.
There were trails for every flavor of OHV enthusiast. Everything from a sand oval with a few good sized whupitys all the way to a near-vertical boulder field climb. RMTP could definitely be credited with the title "Disney World for Wheelers". It even holds true to the common statement about the real Disney World: You can't possibly wheel the whole place in one day. Or a weekend even!
Click on through to where I go in to the details of our trip this year in my promised write-up I have affectionately titled:

What a great day for Go Topless Day! We celebrated it in true Jeep fashion with rain and grey skies! There were plenty of happy faces just the same! We had a turn out of around 15 Jeeps from PV4WD with others coming and going throughout the day.
We sold hot dogs and burgers with a beverage for a couple bucks, promoted Tread Lightly! and responsible wheeling. Some of our members even had the opportunity to assist a motorist in the neighboring parking lot who was having vehicle trouble! As the common motto states, Go Prepared! Many of our members had their tools with them. The problem was diagnosed and fixed quickly!
Special appreciation goes out to all our sponsors and our staff that organized this year's GTD! A big thanks to TJ Dave and OrangeCrush for organizing PV4WD's GTD event! Thank you to Amanda over at Quirk Jeep for bringing over a gorgeous 2011 JK Rubicon! Next time, you can leave the keys with us Amanda, we promise it'll be ok! Thank you to the Brewer Advanced Auto Parts store on Wilson Street for providing us with the venue for our cookout. Another shout-out goes out to Mike White of AllThingsJeep for the GTD stickers and T-Shirts! Last but certainly not least, a big thanks to Steve Salisbury of Orono Friend & Friend for letting us borrow his Tread Lightly! banner so we could continue to Beat the Drum of responsible OHV activities!
Once again, thanks to everyone who was able to help out and participate in this year's Go Topless Day event! It was a lot of fun! Our GTD Picture Gallery will be up a little later on this week! You can view it here.
Now I'm chomping at the bit for Memorial Day!

Well it only took two winters for my jeep’s undercarriage to succumb to the elements of Maine’s diverse climate. Accustomed to being put up in the winters, my ’97 tj was given a nice wakeup call of how quickly the oxidation process can begin to eat away at a perfectly nice piece of steel. At first I never thought anything of it, but as time passed and I grew forever fonder of the jeep culture, I soon realized that I needed to do something about this problem.

Thanks to everyone who came out to play today and braved the cold at the Brewer Wal-Mart! We raised a handful of cash and about 100lb of food for Manna Ministries! J.R. Mitchell of Q106.5 came by for a couple hours and gave us fantastic coverage on the air. Thanks J.R.!

We will be holding a charity food drive at the Brewer Wal-Mart on Saturday, December 12th from 8am to 2pm to support Manna Ministries. Please stop by with your non-perishable food items and household supplies and help a neighbor!

Our goal is to "Fill the Jeep"! We will try to fill one of our member's Jeep Wranglers with charitable donations to help support families in need this holiday season. Donations are not limited to food, other household supplies will help out too!

So in surfing around I found a very interesting website that has some articles involving maintenance, upgrades and repair for us Jeep owners. Increase the size of your fuel tank just by cutting a tube, specifics on Herculining your floor (and other areas), how to build your own onboard welder using parts from NAPA and how to repair the window regulator on an XJ. Check it out!

So I got to surfing around, looking for interesting Jeep stories. This is literally the first one I came across, and it is by far the neatest thing 'Jeep' I have found, to date! Take a minute to read about the "Highest Jeep in the world" and the "Paris to New York" trip... via Siberia. VERY cool!
Take a look!

Here it is! The site is finally up, live and running! We both put a lot of hard work and many hours into building it. Many thanks to TJDave for the proof-reading and input. We couldn't have gotten it juuust right without your help!
We'd love to hear ideas for more pages, articles for the front page (yes, right here!) and pictures you'd like to see! Remember to take photos of your rides so we can put them up to help you brag!
